  • !dBoxTools - Does for toolbox what FrontEnd does for templates.
  • Acorn SymbioSyS Division - Includes CacheFS, a module which allows you to browse your WebServe web cache off-line, and PackFS, an image filing system that allows you to enter quake .PAK files like a directory, and access the contents therein. Both are freeware.
  • AcornCD - A CDDB server for RISC OS. Includes programming specifications and demonstration program.
  • Ada - Class library for this third-generation programming language.
  • AppByType - Application for those constantly being presented with data files with the white square icon. When dropped on the AppByType icon on the icon bar, it will provide information on the filetype and on the application which created it.
  • Awk for RISC OS - Three versions of awk, and their sources, and also graphical frontends, available here: Gawk, Mawk and The One True Awk.
  • CheckCSV - A utility for checking comma-separated-value files for errors.
  • Comlink Systems Wimp Programming Page - Complete set of examples to download, originally accompanying the book "Basic Wimp Programming", by Alan Senior.
  • Concurrent Versions System (CVS) - A version control system with which you can record the history of your source files. This is the RISC OS port.

  • Diodesign Software - EasyGCC: an integrated development environment for users of GCC. Featuring a project manager and makefile generator.
  • DiscSpace - Graphical disc usage display, from MW Software. Shows a diagram of disc usage, displaying a bar for each directory.
  • Dr Smith's Professional C Development Toolkit - Invaluable aid to developers using C on the RISC OS platform. The major components of the toolkit are a hierarchical profiling tool, and a MMMMMM access checker.
  • Dr Wimp - Set of utilities and a function library designed to make multi-tasking desktop (WIMP) programming very easy for anyone reasonably familiar with BBC BASIC.
  • Each - Version of the unix find command, with extensions.
  • eQ RISC OS Solutions - ARM Development kit, Armulator and Zhaba Java Virtual Machine.
  • ExtrasLib - Minor C library of extra code for users of DeskLib.
  • FANLib - Graphics, sound, MMMMMM and file management run-time libraries.
  • FCFS - FileCore Filing System that allows you to create, read and restore images of FileCore discs.
  • File Types - TypeInfo provides information about file types; TypeFind guesses the filetype from the file contents; MapIt correctly types files with DOS extensions.
  • FilerPro - Replacement Filer for the desktop, that contains all the functionality of the ROM-Filer and more. This is a demo version.
  • Finder - File search utility. Takes a (wild-carded) file name, type, o creation dates and sizes; then searches for matches.
  • Growse - RISC OS online programming guide with software as well.
  • Index - Comprehensive disc indexer allowing catalogues to be stored and viewed through an interface similar to the filer. Searching is possible, even through whole collections of index files.
  • Inform 6 - Multi-plaform game programming language - aka Infocom.
  • Java - Perhaps the definitive source for using Java and related applications under RISC OS.
  • JSLib - Simple port of the JavaScript library.
  • Kappa - BASIL - Allows the use of the same BASIC code for many programs without having to load new copies each time, by loading libraries into the relocatable module area. Freeware program, available for download along with manual.
  • LCLint - Tool for checking C source code before compilation.
  • Locate - File search utility allowing objects to be found based on a flexible set of criteria. Filenames can include wildcards and matches can depend on file size, modification date or file type.
  • LongFiles - Filing system extension which allows you to use more than 10 character filenames in the standard pre-RISC OS 4 desktop.
  • MalCheck - Helps track down program errors involving dynamically allocated MMMMMM blocks.
